Tropics in the city

You have probably heard the exciting news that Tropical White has arrived! This delicate tea with natural aromas of mango and passion fruit is an invitation to adventure – and more specifically in the tropics. But the tropics are not necessarily that far away… Here is a selection of addresses from the Communications Team for travelling without leaving the city.

Parisian bars that conjure up a tropical atmosphere

More and more bars and restaurants in Paris are covering their walls, ceilings, and tables with tropical plants, and we love it! Two places particularly caught our attention for their summery, exotic ambience.

The first stop is a trip to Brazil and the welcoming Boteco tapas bars (one in the 10th and another in the 9th arrondissements). Expect jungle-style interior design, exotic-flavored tapas, original cocktails, and enough caipirinhas to help you forget your stressful day!

If you like an urban tropical style, the luxuriant, colonial décor of the Comptoir General is for you! Located in a former hangar on the edge of the Canal Saint-Martin, this space transforms from a relaxing working space in the day into a party bar in the evening!

These two bars are far more exotic than Parisian, and are sure to offer a real change of scenery…

Bring the jungle to your apartment!

For everyone who dreams of having a palm tree in their living room, it’s time to save a date in your calendar!

Almost every month, a plant market is organized in a different neighborhood in Paris by the Plantes Pour Tous association. The last one was held on the weekend of April 13 and 14 at the Villette Park

The line-up includes a multitude of plants big and small, and all at affordable prices (the cheapest start at just €2).

Make sure you don’t miss out on the next event by following Plantes Pour Tous on Instagram!

Nestled next to the Gare de l’Est, Café A offers a unique setting without having to take the train anywhere. Established in the former Recollets Convent, Café A is a peaceful, atypical space perfect for having a drink with friends. This lush green setting in the heart of Paris also offers a vast terrace for making the most of the Parisian summer. On the weekends you can enjoy a tapas-style à la carte brunch service, and there is also a line-up of events including clothes markets and Cuban nights. There’s always something to do at Café A!

Spring is the ideal time to wander through the greenhouses in Auteuil, one of my favorite spots I have kept secret until now! Located in the Bois de Boulogne park, both botany enthusiasts and those looking for a change of scenery will love it. First created in 1761 during the reign of Louis XV, the five greenhouses now boast a 1900 style and are surrounded by a French-style garden. The imposing, wrought-iron structure is painted blue and its rounded shape seems to join up with the sky. The bright greenhouses are home to more than 5,000 species and varieties of plants, each identified with a note and a short description. In this elegant Garden of Eden, I enjoy strolling through the tropical orchid area, the cactus space, and the majestic palm tree house.

An oasis of calm and the perfect place to walk undisturbed in the heart of Paris.
